From Lab to Market: How NeoMotion's CEO is Building Freedom | Swostik, Co-founder, NeoMotion

Episode Summary

Welcome to the second episode of our podcast, where we continue our exploration of how IIT Madras transforms passionate students into builders who create meaningful impact. Host Amrutash Misra (Amrut) sits down with Swostik Sourav Dash, Co-Founder of NeoMotion, whose journey reinforces why IIT Madras truly deserves its reputation as the “Best Place to Build”.

Imagine having to sit in a wheelchair all day and feeling uncomfortable all the time. Join Amrut as he speaks to Swostik about building mobility solutions for people with disabilities. NeoMotion develops customized wheelchairs that work both indoors and outdoors, giving users the freedom to commute to work, visit the mall, and move independently. The conversation follows Swostik's journey from his early days at Science and Social Science fairs in KV to joining IIT Madras, where he became part of the CFI lab within just three days.

I have spoken to Swostik many times about his mission and every time it has been a very insightful conversation. He is a great example of what someone who wants to build can do and how the resources and support IIT provides, specially with labs like the CFI and R2D2 can be a strong base to build upon. On a lighter note, I am looking forward to investing with him into what we think is a very deserving cause of giving Oriya cuisine and food the limelight it deserves in the market.
