About Us

CoderKoodam Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing children from under-resourced communities for a digital future. The foundation operates as a "koodam" (shelter in Tamil), providing a safe and supportive environment where young learners can develop essential digital skills and become comfortable with technology. CoderKoodam's mission is to empower these children to be competitive in the future job market, fostering socio-economic growth within their communities.

The foundation conducts hands-on digital education sessions, currently based out of Chennai Corporation School in Tondiarpet, Chennai. Its unique pedagogy encourages students to take ownership of their learning by setting their own goals and brainstorming technology-based solutions to local community problems. Mentors provide guidance, resources, and skill-specific training, while a gamified model incentivizes active participation and continuous improvement. This approach not only builds technical proficiency but also nurtures problem-solving and leadership skills.
