About Us

Distinct Horizon is an agri-tech company incubated at IIT Madras and based in Lucknow. The company is dedicated to transforming smallholder farming by doubling farmer profits and protecting the environment through innovative fertilizer application technology. Distinct Horizon's flagship product, the DH Vriddhi, is the world's first successful tractor-powered Urea Deep Placement (UDP) applicator. This breakthrough enables precise placement of urea briquettes deep into the soil, significantly reducing fertilizer runoff, improving crop yields, and cutting labor requirements by up to 60 times compared to manual methods.

The company's technology addresses major challenges in paddy cultivation and other crops, where traditional urea broadcasting leads to high wastage, soil and water pollution, and low farmer income. By adopting UDP/FDP (Fertilizer Deep Placement), Distinct Horizon has demonstrated productivity increases of 10% to 60%, directly benefiting farmers and supporting sustainable agriculture. Their innovations have been validated by organizations like Dr. Reddy's Foundation, Tata Chemicals, and the Syngenta Foundation, and have won numerous awards including the National Agripreneurs Award and international recognition at the United Nations Global Compact.
