Modulus Housing
About Us
Modulus Housing is a construction technology company specializing in modular, portable, and rapidly deployable infrastructure. Incubated at the IIT Madras Incubation Cell, Modulus Housing began as a response to the need for temporary shelters during the 2015 Chennai floods.
The company’s flagship innovation, MediCAB, is a portable hospital unit that can be assembled by four people in just two hours and is designed for rapid deployment in emergency and rural healthcare settings. MediCAB features a patent-pending telescopic folding mechanism, reducing transportation costs and enabling a 1,600 sq ft hospital to fit on a single trailer. Modulus Housing’s modular solutions extend to prefabricated medical wards, diagnostic centers, offices, classrooms, and worker accommodations, serving clients in both public and private sectors, including L&T, Tata Projects, Shapoorji Pallonji, NGOs, and government agencies.
Operating primarily as a B2B company, Modulus Housing delivers end-to-end modular infrastructure projects, from design and manufacturing to on-site assembly. The company’s mission is to disrupt traditional construction by making it faster, more sustainable, and adaptable to changing needs. With over 1,000 cabins deployed and projects generating $12 million in revenue, Modulus Housing has become a leader in microstructure innovation, providing solutions for disaster relief, healthcare, education, defense, and more.
